Overview

ScreenToPrompt is a Chrome extension that lets you annotate screenshots and generate AI-ready prompts. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what we do not do.

Data We Do Not Collect

ScreenToPrompt does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

What Stays on Your Device

All data created and used by ScreenToPrompt remains entirely in your browser:

AI Prompt Generation

When you click "Generate Prompt," the extension sends your annotated screenshot directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). This communication happens directly between your browser and the provider's API — ScreenToPrompt has no server in the middle and never sees or stores the request or response.

Your use of third-party AI providers is subject to their respective privacy policies:

Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

Data Security

Since no data leaves your device (except direct API calls you initiate to your chosen AI provider), there is no server-side data to secure. Your API key is stored using Chrome's built-in storage mechanism, which is sandboxed to the extension and inaccessible to websites or other extensions.

Children's Privacy

ScreenToPrompt is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
